One bad panel doesn't always mean a new door
Backed into the door, cracked a section, or found rot in the bottom panel? A single damaged section can often be replaced on its own — when the door's make, model and profile still exist to match.
When a section swap works
The panel's manufacturer and profile are still in production, the rest of the door is sound, and the damage is confined to one section. Bottom sections are the most common — they live in the splash zone, take the car bumps, and on wood doors they rot first. We identify the door's make and section profile from its markings, and order the matching section.
When it doesn't
Discontinued profiles, damage across multiple sections, or a door whose springs, tracks and hardware are all at end-of-life at once — at some point the honest advice is a new door (see installation), and we'll show you the math of condition, not a sales pitch. Color match is the other honest caveat: a new section next to sun-faded sections will read slightly different, especially on south-facing doors.
What's involved
The door is secured and de-tensioned, the damaged section unstacked, the new section fitted with its hinges and rollers, and the door re-balanced — a new section changes the door's weight distribution slightly, and the springs get checked against it. Weather seal on a bottom section is replaced as part of the job.

Questions, answered straight
Can you match my door's color and panel style?
If the profile is still made, yes — raised-panel, flush and carriage profiles all have their stamps. Sun fade is the honest limit: new paint next to ten-year-old paint shows. Some owners repaint the full door afterward for a perfect match.
My door is wood and the bottom panel is soft. Replace or repair?
Rot usually starts in the bottom section. If it's confined there and the frame sections above are sound, a bottom-section swap is a real option; if the rot has company, we'll tell you.
Is a panel swap cheaper than a new door?
When the match exists and the rest of the door is healthy, yes, meaningfully. We don't quote numbers on the website — book a visit and you'll get the figure at the door, in writing, before any work.
